Well ive been pondering about a situation .Way back in the early years of this century our grandmothers and grandfathers lived a very simple life with very few wants and few possessions .When did this transition come about that we in our day and age want so much , possess so much ,and still end up wanting.?The need of the hour is always met amply but still every member on earth wants so much more. Even the advertisements say We want more!
The ladies of this age want and have so much more than they actually use .Well if one really gets down to thinking about it ...this want for material things maybebe the reason why we are not able to think high?We do not eat simple food ..we have complicated our lives with the italian pizzas, with french fries ,subway sandwiches and all of this has to be consumed with a drink that can wash our sinks?!!!!!!
Wherefore is all our health food concepts ..now in Sunday papers magazine sections carry pages and pages of this health food/.The good old rasam is a delicacy in five star hotels and the good old drumstick is served in silver and copper pots by costumed staff. We go to these places to eat the famous bisibele bath that our mothers made in a jiffy every sunday.
We want to eat more fancily served food,we want to wear designer clothes and our homes are all almost exhibition quality! But i yearn for that old home where we squatted on the floor in the kitchen chatting with our mothers and eating as she cooked yummy food!.........i wonder......
see amma, i agree, but the fact is we all are just adapting ouselves to the current time but we still enjoy the sunday lunch sitting at home and served by amma... I so wanna eat the good old rasam ...
