A surprise trip to Kanchipuram bloomed out of the blue, when my daughter from Bangalore called and announced that she felt like singing in Kamakshi sannidhi!
Well ,as parents what else could one expect but that we would rush to listen to her.My husband being her foremost fan!
We left Chennai and reached Kanchi Nagaram.....at around 9am on 21st Sep 13 and headed to Varadar,,,the Varam tharum deivam., the Lord of Lords who spoke to Thirukachi Nambigal. As it was the first Purattasi Saturday the crowds were thronging every part of the temple.
My daughter arrived from Bangalore with two of her friends and with the help of a local friend we had darshan very quickly and feeling very blessed we went to Kamakshi temple.
To just have a look at the perumal here is a blessing because He smiles so benignly, and as we stand seeing Him we forget to even ask Him for anything. He is so bewitching!
At the Kamakshi temple again we are fortunate that we were escorted to the inner sanctum and sat with my daughter ,who sang wholeheartedly and from her heart that the Archakar later commented that the Mattal from Kamakshis ear kept falling off because she wanted to listen well! That was a blessing indeed!
We went to the Kanchi Madam had darshan of the Sankaracharya there and headed back feeling full and teary eyed!
When she sang HiranMayee and Devi Brova it was like being served a full scale lunch for us.
